Mutton And Raw Papaya Curry



At my home my hubby n mom always prefer  cooking raw papaya with mutton they say it's very good for health n tasty too. As papaya helps in digestion n prevents constipation n it helps mutton to cook properly.Mutton is very difficult to digest n we use more oil n spices for cooking it n it makes mutton a  heavy food. People usually thinks 2 to  3 times before eating mutton curry. Cooking raw papaya with mutton makes the Curry tasty n also helps in digestion. So try this mutton n raw papaya recipe at home n tell me your views through comment.

Mutton Raw Papaya Curry:

For Marination:

Mutton ( I have taken 1/2 kg mutton)
Ginger garlic paste 2 teaspoon
Musturd oil 1 tablespoon
Salt as per your taste
Turmeric powder 2 teaspoon
Curd 3 teaspoon

Ingredients For Cooking:

Half raw papaya wash,peel n cut into long pieces
2 - 3 medium size potato wash n cut into two pieces each
4 -5 onion chopped
Ginger garlic paste as per your requirement
1 tomato chopped
bay leaves 2
Oil 200 ml
Salt as per your taste
Turmeric powder
Cumin powder
Coriander powder
Meat masala
Coriander leaves for garnish

Method:

First wash the properly n marinate it with salt, turmeric powder,ginger garlic paste,curd,oil n keep it for 1 hour. On a gas stove take pressure cooker and heat oil in it add bay leaves, chopped onion fry it till it turns light brown in color then add ginger garlic paste,turmeric powder,salt,cumin powder, coriander powder,meat masala into it and fry it on low medium flame add half cup water to prevent from burning of masala add tomato and cook till water dry.


Now add mutton into it and cook it in low medium  flame for 10 mins while cooking cover the lid after 10 mins you will see water is coming out from mutton then add raw papaya and potato in it and cook it on medium flame with covered lid when water dries from the curry add warm water in it and cover the lid tightly and wait for  3 whistle.

Now off the gas stove n let the pressure cooker cool. Your mutton curry is ready to eat.Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve with rice or roti n salad.
Note:
You can add red chilli powder ad garam masala into it.
Always give warm water while cooking mutton or chicken curry.
