Kichidi Love Of Every Family



In India kichidi is always famous in every home and we always love to eat it. In every state it has various types of flavour and different style of cooking.
  And today I am posting a tasty kichidi recipe so here is the recipe of my daughters another favourite recipe.

We need :

1 cup basmati rice
1 cup arhar dal
Chopped carrot
Potato cut into small pieces
Cauliflower pieces
Green peas
Chopped onion
Chopped tomato
1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
Turmeric powder
1 teaspoonCumin powder
1 teaspoonCumin seeds
1 teaspoon Corriander powder
Salt as per your taste
Water 3 cups
Chopped coriander leaves and butter for garnish.

Method :

Soak basamati rice and arhar dal for one hour. After one hour wash them take a pressure cooker add the rice,dal, all veggies, 3 cups water,turmeric powder and salt cover the lid and keep it on gas stove wait for 4 wishtles.

Now take a frying pan on gas stove heat oil in it add cumin seeds when it starts cracking add onion and fry it till light brown then add ginger garlic paste,turmeric powder,salt and fry it on medium flame add chopped tomato coriander powder,cumin powder and fry it add little water and fry for another 2 to 3 mins. When tomato is cooked properly add the kichidi and stir well for 5 mins on medium flame after 5 mins off the gas stove.

Kichidi is ready to eat. Garnish with butter,corriander leaves on it and serve hot.

Note:
1. You can add pumpkin, raw papaya, beans.
2. Take water in the same measuring cup which is used for measuring rice and dal.
