North Indian Lunch Recipes




I love eating north indian foods because I was in Delhi for 10 years and I am a foodie person and always love to try different states food and in my family my mom,dad,sis all are same. When I go to other states I never order the food I usually love to eat I try foods of that place.  No more chit chat let's start with the recipe.


😋Muli Or Radish Paratha


We need:

2 medium size radish/muli washed and grated
1 1/2 cup wheat flour
Salt as per your taste
1/4th teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon carom seeds/ajwain
Oil or ghee for cooking

Method:

1. In a bowl add grated muli/radish,wheat flour,salt,turmeric powder,carom seeds/ajwain mix them well and start making dough if water is need then add water as per requirement and make a smooth dough.

2. Now make medium size balls and cover them for half an hour. After half an hour on a gas stove heat tawa and start rolling dough balls in chapati size with the help of dry wheat flour.

3. Now cook it on medium flame when both sides are half cooked add oil/ghee and cook both sideit for 2 mins. Cook all the dough balls in that way.

4. Your muli paratha is ready to eat. Serve hot.

It gives better taste if cooked in ghee don't over cook it otherwise it will be hard to eat.

😋Tomato Onion Steam Curry


We need:

8 tomatoes washed and roughly chopped
Some onion steams washed and cut into pieces.
1 big onion chopped
1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/4 Cumin seeds
1 teaspoon meat masala
Salt as per your taste
2 tablespoon tomato ketchup
Chopped coriander leaves
Oil for cooking.

Method:

1. On a gas stove take a frying pan heat oil in it when oil is heated add cumin seeds when it starts cracking add onion,onion stems,salt and saute for 5 mins on medium flame.

2. Now add ginger garlic paste,turmeric powder, and saute for 3 mins on low flame then add tomatoes mix it and cook it on low flame till water dries.

3. When water dries and tomatoes cooked properly add meat masala and with the help of spatula mash tomatoes and add tomato ketchup .

4. Finally cook for 5 mins on low flame then add coriander leaves mix it and serve hot with paratha.

😋Mix dal/lentils



We need:

1 cup mix dal/lentils soaked in water for 2 hours I have used dal which doesn't contain rajama/kidney bean
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 medium size onion finely chopped
12 garlic cloves chopped
3 green chillies chopped
1 tomato finely chopped
Chopped coriander leaves
1 teaspoon meat masala
Salt as per taste
Oil for cooking
Butter for serving

Method:

1. In a pressure cooker add washed and soaked dal,turmeric powder,salt and cook it properly and switch off gas.

2. On a gas stove take a fring pan heat oil in it now add cumin seeds when it starts cracking add onion, garlic,green chillies and saute for few seconds then add chopped tomato,salt and saute for 3-4 mins on low flame then medium the flame.

3. Add cooked dal, meat masala and boil till it becomes thick finally add coriander leaves mix well and switch off gas. Serve hot topping with butter and eat with paratha or chapati.

Guguni is a famous curry in maximum homes of Odisha it's also found on the street of Odisha  as a street food. In Odisha it's way of eating is different at different places. some people love to  eat with plain dosa,idli,upma,puri,paratha, to and some people love to eat with puffed rice( in Oriya it's muri).
